The second line of the Beineu – Bozoy – Shymkent (BBS) main gas pipeline is being built parallel to the existing first line to increase the throughput capacity of the pipeline that connects Kazakhstan’s western gas-producing regions with the country’s southern regions.
The second line will be approximately 1,450 km long, running through the Mangystau (121.3 km), Aktobe (239 km), Kyzylorda (848.1 km) and Turkestan (241.2 km) regions. Construction is divided into four lots of about 360 km each; JS Company “Montazhspetsstroy” is carrying out the construction works on two of them.
Once commissioned, the second line’s capacity will reach up to 10 billion m³ of gas per year at the first stage, rising to up to 15 billion m³ per year at the second stage, substantially increasing the supply of domestically produced gas to the southern regions of Kazakhstan.
