Turkestan Region, KATCO, Moinkum Field

The Moinkum (Moyynkum) field is a major uranium deposit located in the Sozak District of the Turkestan Region, Kazakhstan, and developed by JV KATCO LLP. Its total reserves are estimated at tens of thousands of tonnes of uranium, including major areas such as Tortkuduk, with reserves exceeding 40 thousand tonnes. Uranium is extracted using the environmentally safe in-situ leaching (ISL) method.
